SPL were awarded the supply and installation of bespoke joinery doors and shutter boxes from local building contractors RJK Construction Ltd.

SPL’s expertise was called upon to match all the precise details of the existing joinery within the property and create new doors and traditional internal shutters to enable the charm and character not to be disrupted. SPL were chosen due to their decades of experience within this sector of the industry.

 

All details were closely monitored by both the client and the architect and under close scrutiny of the local Conservation officer.

The doors were supplied factory painted and glazed with “slimline” double glazed units and traditional narrow rebated glazing bars were fitted.

Mixing Traditional with Contemporary

SPL have recently secured a contract to supply and install the Oak and Aluminium Clad bi-folding doors from Germany. The doors come complete with the ability to open a single pedestrian door or all five doors to let “the outside in”.

Local award winning building contractors SCH Construction from Lichfield in conjunction with the architect chose SPL to compliment the high level of craftsmanship required to complete this local project.

Both the Extension and Sunroom have been designed sympathetically offering all of the charismatic detailing and charm of the original building.

All the products required are being manufactured and are due to be supplied early into the New Year.

A Call from the Castle

SPL have recently been awarded the supply and installation of all the bespoke joinery required for a listed Barn within the grounds of Eccleshall Castle in Staffordshire.

The high performance “flush casement” has been specificed by the conservation officer and local building contractors “Staffordshire Building Company” have chosen SPL.

SPL have been chosen for both their quality of product and service. The flush casement window comes complete with multi-point locking and pivot hinges. The windows are factory finished with a micro-porous coating system and factory glazed with 24mm “low E” argon filled double glazed units.

SPL are also supplying the internal and external door sets for the project.

The project is due to start early 2012.

From Concept to Completion

SPL have recently completed a local project in Stafford just a few miles from their offices.

SPL were involved right from day one and worked directly with the client, architect and builder. SPL supplied and installed the high performance aluminium bi-folding door set and two aluminium roof lanterns.


The doors were fitted with integral venetian blinds within the double glazed units.

The roof lanterns were fitted with opening vents, complete with remote control openers and were fitted with the latest wind and rain sensors allowing the roof vents to be opened and closed automatically to keep the room at a constant temperature.

A Room with a View

SPL have recently completed a project in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

SPL were hand chosen due to their experience and high levels of customer service in this industry. SPL were requested to provide a high performance aluminium bi-folding door set and gable screen, they were also involved due to the complex structural demands of the gable of the building.

All products came from Sunfold Systems and were manufactured in Germany.

The alumnium was powder coated DB703 and was fitted with a multi-point locking system and flush threshold.

Our client wanted to build an extension to create a magnificent family lounge and kitchen area, the finished result took full advantage of the view and brought the outside in.

Conservation Area Project Secured

SPL have recently secured a contract for the supply and installation of timber sash windows in a conservation area in Harbourne – Birmingham.

SPL have specified the “Insert Window System” which has been designed for situations like this. The system is not only the latest in technology but also offers a high level of performance and comes with a 10/20 year guarantee.

The Insert system allows a quick and easy, no mess installation without any redecoration.

Reaching for the Sky

SPL have recently completed a sash window contract for the supply and installation near to the legendary “Abbey Road Studio’s”


Due to the sensitive nature of the location, SPL worked with very closely the client and the Westminster Borough Council submitting all details for approval.

All work was completed on the top floor apartment in the prestigious Maida Vale borough.

All products were supplied factory glazed and factory painted and were installed by SPL.

Spring has Sprung

SPL have noticed a large up-turn in orders over the last month, securing several local projects in Stafford, Lichfield and Cannock Wood.

Now the spring has arrived clients are looking to commence with improvement works that would not have been so inviting during the winter.

Bi-folding doors are becoming more and more popular and SPL import most of their products from all across Europe and America, providing glazing systems with the highest performance standards set within the industry.

Don’t Move Improve

Due to the down-turn in the economy the majority of SPL’s new customers are choosing to improve their homes rather than the more costly exercise of moving. “We are seeing a much larger increase of extensions onto the existing properties incorporating large expanses of glazing including our bi-folding and sliding doors” quoted Shaun Holt Operations Director of SPL.

It is much easier to add additional floor space and usable rooms at a fraction of the cost of moving.

SPL are advertising in the Midland addition of both “Spring Home Improvements” and “Don’t Move Improve” these are Midland based home improvement magazines which run concurrently during the spring and the summer.

SPL Secure Local Order

SPL have secured a local order with Stafford’s leading Accountants and Business advisers Dean Statham. SPL have previously worked with Dean Statham on Phase 1 and are please to annouce the latest stage of the redevelopment works.

Phase 2 has now commenced and will see the majority of the office space and staff area’s remodernised.
